Jim Haraway has over 20 years of nursing experience. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1987. His career started in the emergency department at UAB as a staff nurse, charge nurse, and interim department head, after which he spent two years doing general medical surgical floor nursing at a community based hospital in Hilo, Hawaii. He then moved to Nashville, Tennessee working in the surgical intensive care unit at Vanderbilt University Hospital for over 5 years as well as in the special procedures radiology department performing conscious sedation. Jim obtained his Master’s degree as an advanced practice nurse, family nurse practitioner from Vanderbilt University in 1997.
Jim has worked in the Grand Valley since 1998, and joined Western Valley Family Practice in October 2014.
Jim has been happily married for many years and has two children. He stays involved with the community by participating in a local Cub Scout pack as a Den leader and is committed to the Western Colorado way of life.
